About Whiteout Working Dogs

Whiteout Working Dogs is owned and run by dog trainer and photographer Christina Gibson. Located in the Methow Valley, in Washington state, it is home to her competitive sled dog team, and offers professional dog obedience and training suited for pet and working dogs alike.

Christina has been training and racing sled dogs for eleven years and has competed in a multitude of races across the US and Canada. At the age of four, after watching Universal Pictures' cartoon movie ‘Balto’, she decided she was going to race sled dogs. Her mother understandably assumed it was a passing fantasy, but when she ran a dog for the first time at the age of twelve,  Christina was immediately hooked. From that day her drive to compete with the best athletes in the world has grown, and her and her dogs have raced in numerous mid-distance and stage events, often finishing at the top of the field. Christina’s kennel now has it’s own breeding program, aiming to produce dogs that compete at a high level, and also transition into other sports and lifestyles with ease. The team currently has it's sights set on the Yukon Quest 300.

Christina offers her clients a wealth of knowledge from a unique background of experience, and specializes in relationship-based dog training. She also offers canine photography services. Learn more above!

We had a such a great time at @legion_k9_ for the Mobile Detection seminar last weekend! It’s always a pleasure learning with Eddie, and really fun to work on some brand new scenarios he’s never seen, and come away incredibly proud of my boy and with weak points to work on! I really enjoy watching the wheels turn in a dog’s head while they are starting to understand something new, and watching it under a context that’s newer to me as well, is really cool. A huge Thank You to @kris_williams18 for sharing his time and wealth of knowledge, and creating a space where teams from all different training backgrounds can come together and support each other in learning.

5th Place out of 20 teams in the 2025 Race to the Sky with Sarah, Windshear, Otter, Percy, Gambit, Chickadee, Armada, and Bill! Three yearlings in their first race, three 3 year olds, and two ‘Elders’ that aren’t that old! There were multiple times during the race I was tearing up with all the love and gratitude for these pups. The future is bright! Thanks to all the helping hands we had this weekend, Aidan, mom(@troglodytestroglodytes ), @camstersssss , and @gondola_is_life . They had their hands full handling for both myself and Sean, and did an amazing job not only juggling everything, but doing it to perfection. Couldn’t have done it without you guys!

One week from today the team and I will be heading out of the start chute at the Race to the Sky 100 mile race in Lincoln, Montana! I will be using the race as a training run for my yearlings, with the help of a few of my adult dogs to keep the clown show in check. We won’t be looking to make any big moves this year, and the focus will be on getting these guys some happy and positive trail experience! I’m so excited to see how this group of young dogs does. We’ve had a very light training season, but they’ve taken on everything I’ve thrown at them with enthusiasm, and I can’t wait to show them one of my favorite race trails!

As many of you know, we’ve taken this training and racing season to focus on some bigger picture life and career choices, which meant I made a choice to put racing on a back burner. It’s been perfect timing too, with a bunch of yearlings it’s a good season to take the opportunity to move to a little bit of a different beat than our normal. That doesn’t mean we aren’t eyeing a few events though, and we’re really looking forward to using the race trail to get these pups some fun camping runs! Stay tuned, over the next few days and weeks we have a few announcements to make about races, and changes to the team, (probably ones you’ve already seen coming) as well as new ways to get involved! And yes, the online courses you’ve all been asking for ARE coming, these things just take time. 😉 Ft. Aidan and team busting their butts yesterday. The crew is having a blast running tours with our friends at @morrisonracingkennel for the holiday season! We’re enjoying the beautiful Montana views and taking the opportunity to slow down the yearlings and really teach them to dig in, while building muscle and getting miles on the whole team.
